Professional Longarm Services

Linda Longarm Quilt Magic offers quality professional computer-guided quilting. I have been longarm quilting my own quilts since 2012. In 2017 I upgraded my setup and started to take on quilting professionally for others. I purchased a Handi Quilter Avante 18” Longarm machine initially for doing free motions designs to complete my personal quilt tops. I then upgraded my kit to a fully computerized set up in 2019.

There are several reasons why more and more quilters are having their beautifully pieced tops professionally quilted. Some people just love piecing tops, others find getting them quilted a problem or chore. Lack of space and time can also be an issue, or you may find wrestling a huge quilt sandwich under your sewing machine foot just too backbreaking. I can help you finish your quilt tops. I can take your lovingly pieced tops and enhance them with your choice of quilting design. I have hundreds of designs with access to 1000’s more if there is a need for something specific.

In addition to this – The Good news is! For any of the following services – There is no need to baste your quilt sandwich together; the price includes loading the quilt onto the Longarm Quilting Machine and the quilting threads too.

Pantograph Quilting

I have hundreds of all over digital pantograph patterns for you to choose from. If you are bringing the quilt to me in person, we would do this together whilst looking at your quilt and selecting a suitable design compatible with my computerised system. If you are posting the quilt to me, once I have received it, I will call you to discuss pattern and thread choices.

Basting/Tacking

This is a service I offer for those who find it hard to baste their quilts prior to hand or machine quilting. When quilting is completed, just snip every third or fourth stitch and pull out the bottom thread.

Binding

I can machine attach a double fold binding with mitered corners to your quilt top ready for you to hand finish. Alternatively, I can hand stitch it to the back of the quilt or finish using the machine. Just supply a 2 1/4 to 2 ½ inch strip the length of the perimeter of your quilt.

Wadding

I can supply cotton/blended wadding in bleached, unbleached and black if desired. You can use your own wadding if you wish.  I normally stock 80/20 in stock in either 96” or 124” widths.

I purchase the majority of my quilting notions from ohsewsweetshop.co.uk who stock a vast array of wadding and beautiful fabrics and backings.

If you need a specific wadding or backing fabric peruse the website & or call me to discuss options.  There are numerous options available.

Note: Backing and batting must be at least 8” longer AND wider than the quilt top.
