Pricing Information

I charge per square yard and therefore to calculate the cost of your quilt measure the sides of your quilt in inches and multiply length x width and divide this figure by 1296. This will give you the square yardage of your quilt, then multiply this figure by the cost of the quilting/basting.

Pantograph quilting starts from £22/£28 per square yard depending upon quilting density.  Your choice of thread colour is included in the price.

Basting: £11 per square yard

Binding (attached to top only):  £1 per linear foot

Binding (attached to top and hand sewn to back): £2 per linear foot

Binding (attached to back and machine sewn to front): £1.50 per linear foot

Personalised Quilt Labels are also available starting from £10

Payment in full is due upon completion and payment is required by cash or online payment at pick up or prior to mailing.
The mailing costs for Quilts will be charged at cost – Only a fully insured guaranteed postal service such as Royal Mail Guaranteed Next Day will be an option.

THREAD:

LLQM uses only quality specifically designed thread for use on longarm machines and stocks this in an array of beautiful colours from supplies such as Fil-Tec Glide and Superior Threads Cotton or Polyester which all have proven to work well.  I will soon be auditioning the 100% cotton Aurifil thread, which comes in a gorgeous array of colours suitable for longarm machine quilting.

A selection of the available Fil-Tec Glide colours can be seen here;

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

Are available and are based on an hourly charge which may include piecing of backing, seam repairs, squaring-up of backing, pressing, thread clipping, trimming and squaring up the finished quilt top and overlocking the quilt edge. The hourly charge, or any portion thereof, is £15.00

MINIMUM CHARGE:

A number of longarm quilters charge for loading the quilt onto the frame to cover the initial time required to load and align the fabrics on the quilting machine in preparation of starting the quilting process, I currently do not have and have not as yet set a minimum charge rate.

WADDING:

Fusible wadding is not recommended as this has an adverse effect on how the quilt get sandwiched together by the frame rolling process.

QUILT BACKING

A word about backing fabrics: choose this fabric as carefully as what was taken to select the quilt top fabric. An excellent choice is 100% cotton in a coordinating print to compliment your quilt top. Please inform me if you would like to take advantage of me piecing your backing fabrics together for you.

If the backing needs to be pieced, use a one-half inch seam (with selvages removed) and seams pressed open. Adding a border to extend the fabric often does not work too well especially if narrow as the border position cannot be guaranteed to run true and straight.

The Quilt Backing and Wadding needs to be squared up and be 6” to 8” larger on all sides to enable the sandwiched fabric to roll onto rollers and allow the pattern to run off at sides.

Payment in full is due upon completion and payment is required by cash or online payment at pick up or prior to mailing.

DISCLAIMERS

Fullness/Piecing Errors: I am not able to quilt out piecing errors. If the quilt top is not square or the borders are too full, you can expect pleats or tucks in the finished quilt. While I will try to ease in as much as possible–that will only work for a small amount of fullness. Quilting will not line up points or seams. Mechanical: Please be aware that sewing machines like longarm machines are mechanical devices.

Although I will do my utmost to ensure perfect results every time, on very rare occasions mechanical problems can occur which may cause minor damage to a quilt top and/or backing.
